Post Season - Baseball & Softball

Ridgefield Little League is the four-time defending Connecticut District One champion for 11/12 Baseball and defending 10/11 & Juniors 13/14 Softball!

Ridgefield Little League offers several post-season (summer) playing opportunities:  selection to one of our District All-Star or Friendship teams.  There are also summer travel softball opportunities through our partnership with the Ridgefield Boys & Girls Club.

RLL's baseball division will have six District All-Star teams, three each for the American and National Leagues, as follows:

One team each of 9 & 10 year olds, 10 & 11 year olds and the official 11 &12 year old team which is Williamsport-eligible.

There will also be Friendship teams for 9's, 10's, 11's and 12's.  Last summer we had four Friendship teams.

This summer (2008), RLL will have three District All-Star Softball teams as follows:

One team each of 9 & 10 year olds, 11 & 12 year olds and 13 & 14 year olds.  This aligns our District teams better with the Ridgefield Boys & Girls Club travel softball program that most of our girls also play after LL all-stars and to better coordinate scheduling.

RLL plans to field an inaugural group of Friendship teams to play in a summer league with teams from other Little League softball programs, if there is sufficient interest.

Both All-Stars and Friendship teams are selected on merit by player, manager & coach voting, and in consultation with an RLL Post-season Committee.  These teams will play a competitive schedule inclusive of tournaments through the end of July.

All players who wish to be selected onto a post-season team must be available through the end of July.  There is an additional fee of $100.00 for all players chosen onto a District All-Star team or $50.00 for players selected for Friendship teams to cover additional RLL expenses such as tournament & umpire fees and post-season uniforms & supplies.
