ALL RIDGEFIELD BASEBALL FAMILIES AND FRIENDS!!
Join Ridgefield Travel Baseball for a special screening of the classic baseball film, The Rookie. This screening is to raise money for our 12-year-old team, who will be competing in the Cooperstown Tournament at the beginning of August. Founded in 2011, Ridgefield Travel Baseball is the travel division of Ridgefield Little League. The Cooperstown Tournament is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our 12U RTB players, many of whom have been playing since they were nine years old. Cooperstown is the culminating event for their final year in the program.
The Rookie is based on the true story of Jim Morris (Dennis Quaid), who proves that baseball dreams can come true, and you're never too old to stop dreaming. Twelve years ago, Jim's pro career ended in the minor leagues with a devastating shoulder injury. Now, Morris is a high-school teacher and coach in Texas. His team makes a deal with him: if they win the district championship, Jim will try out with a major-league organization. Whether this is your first time seeing this classic film or your fiftieth, you will experience it like never before, on the big screen, alongside your Ridgefield baseball family and friends.
Tickets are limited. This event sold out quickly last year, so purchase your seats today!
As a special part of this screening, we are offering limited edition Ridgefield Little League T-shirts and sweatshirts, available for purchase. All proceeds will be donated to the 12u Cooperstown fund. Orders must be placed by February 23 at midnight, and will be available for pick up at the movie. If you are not able to attend the movie but would like to place an order, contact Briana Sudzinski at [email protected] to arrange pick up.
